How to choose kitchen sink size?

The kitchen sink dimensions totally depend on how much space you can provide. In our new house I wanted a decent size sink so I asked a plumber to help me choose one. Based on the available area he helped me to understand how to choose a kitchen sink size and I opted for a 24”*30” sink. I can provide you with the standard dimensions of a sink here. 

What Size Kitchen Sink Is Best?

The standard sink size is 22”*30” but it might vary as per your space availability. You can install a sink bowl with a width of about 36 inches or a double bowl with a width of up to 48 inches. You can always customise or choose the depth of the sink. It is usually between 6 inches and 12 inches but if you want more depth, you can buy one. 

If you want to have an oversized sink, you can buy one with a length greater than 36 inches as well. The choice is yours. We installed a 22"*28" sink, and it looks perfect as per our space. I just hope you now have an idea about the sink sizes.

Well, before purchasing a kitchen sink, you should always measure your countertops. Before purchasing one question we should think about ‘ Are kitchen sinks standard size?’ The answer would be yes! The standard kitchen sink size would be  22 inches long to 30-33 inches wide. For large sinks, the measurement may differ from nine inches in length, up to 40 inches for large sinks. Single bowl sinks measure 30 inches in length and double-bowl kitchen sinks measure 22 inches by 33-36 inches.

The approximate depth of the kitchen sink can be between 8 to 10 inches. Kitchen sinks with a deep bowl help to reduce water splashing and accommodate more utensils. 

Kitchens sinks are usually rectangular in shape and or oval-shaped. A rectangular shape is a better option as it can hold more utensils. 

A small kitchen sink can cost you anywhere between Rs 2,200 to Rs 10,000 and a larger one can cost you approximately Rs 8,000 to 60,000 or more. 

The price of a kitchen sink increases due to the thickness of the steel. The thicker the steel, the higher the price. It is preferable to purchase an 18 gauge or lower stainless steel.
