When I started painting in my home, I used so many paint brushes. But I used to clean them right after I used them. It helped me preserve them for years and I’m still using them. It's necessary to pay a bit more attention to brush cleaning to prevent the brushes from missing their bounce. Because all the art supplies including brushes are costly. Acrylic painting materials can be kept looking and working the same as fresh for years or longer. Cleaning up acrylic paint can be tough because it dries so quickly, and simply using water will not be enough to remove it all. You just have to take proper care and clean them right after you use them. Let’s see how to clean acrylic paint brushes.

Steps on how to remove acrylic paint from brushes:

1) You need to wipe the extra paint out of the brushes using a paper towel or cloth before actually stepping to the sink to wash it.

2) To remove any excess paint, you have to dip the brush in a bowl of water.

3) You have to wipe off whatever remaining water carefully and allow it to dry with a cloth.

4) If you want to eliminate the majority of the acrylic paint, repeat the steps as needed.

5) You can wash your brush using a little spray of cool water. Squeeze the bristles lightly and swiftly with your fingertips to remove any remaining paint.

6) Apply a little soap on your brush, either special artist soap or standard hand-washing soap. After that, softly clean the brushes with your fingers by rubbing the soap through the hairs.

7) Check for any remaining paint and repeat step 6 if necessary.

8) Shake the brush to clean any remaining water until you're sure you've removed all of the paint.

9) Now place it on a towel or cloth and let it dry for some time.

Methods to clean acrylic paint brushes at home:

1) Use Alcohol

The most readily available paint thinner at home is alcohol. You just have to rub alcohol on the brush gently and wash it with alcohol. Washing dried acrylic paint brushes and oil brushes with this procedure are possible. You may need to try working outside or in a well-ventilated location because these compounds have a strong odour and can be damaging to your health.

2) Hand Sanitizer

You can even use a hand sanitiser to clean your acrylic paint brushes thoroughly. You can apply a few in your hand and press them into the brush. It will help release the paint within the hairs. Remove all leftovers with a paper towel and carefully wash your brush.
