You must regularly clean your ceramic wash basin, otherwise it will get soiled and thus, will be difficult to remove the stains. I was really careless with maintaining the wash basin regularly. This led to tougher stains and other dirty buildup. When my sister came to stay with me, she was irked by the dirt, and suggested to me a few tips on how to clean ceramic wash basin.
How to Remove Stains from Ceramic Wash Basin?
I wasn’t really aware of those methods, so my sister helped me clean our wash basin. I learned there are mostly three methods you can use to remove the strains: baking soda, bleach, and sponge. We used the first one, and here are the steps taken.
First, we dampened the sink lightly, then sprinkled some baking soda all over the basin.
Then, we use a soft sponge to scrub the basin, especially the stained areas.
It was difficult to clean the buildup, so my sister brought a lemon and cut them into tiny slices. She rubbed those slices around the basin, gently scrubbing the stained areas.
Then, we waited for around 20-30 minutes for the lemon juice to break down the stains.
Finally, I rinsed the basin with lukewarm water.
This is how we removed the tough stains from the basin. My sister also mentioned that one can clean the basin using bleach solution and pumice stone as well. However, since it’s a strong chemical and can be harmful, it must be used with caution.
I hope this will help you clean your ceramic basin.

I decided to opt for a ceramic wash basin for my hand wash area but at the time I wasn’t aware of the hassle it would bring along. The basin became a bit dirty after using it for a week and I didn’t know how to clean it. So, I asked my cousin how to clean ceramic wash basin as he also has one at his place.
How to Remove Stains from Ceramic Wash Basin?
He told me that regular care is necessary to keep the clean and spotless. Here are the steps mentioned by him.
He told me to use a mix of soap and hot water on the sink.
After that, he suggested me to remove the stain by scrubbing them with a brush. He said that a old toothbrush would be good enough.
Next, I was asked to rinse off the residue present on the sink with water.
Following that, he said to use a soft microfiber cloth to wipe the basin dry.
