I put in a chimney in my modular kitchen last month. Due to my wife's extensive use of it for various purposes, oil stains have gathered at the chimney. I have shared the detailed steps I followed to get my chimney back to its original, flawless condition.

How to Remove Oil Stain From Chimney?

Although removing chimney oil stains at home can be difficult, it can be made much simpler with baking soda or Sodium Bicarbonate. I found the following procedure online on how to clean chimney oil stains:

• Initially in a small bowl, put two teaspoons of baking soda. 

• Now, slowly add water to the bowl and mix until it becomes a thick paste. The amount of baking soda and water required typically varies with the stain's size.

• Next, apply the baking soda paste directly to the chimney's oil-stained sections. To guarantee that the stain is completely covered, use a brush and distribute the paste evenly. 

• Give the baking soda paste to settle on the oil stain for around five minutes.

• Now, clean the grease off with a scrub brush. Slowly begin scrubbing in a gentle circular motion.

• Finally, use a wet towel and give the chimney a thorough cleaning.

I had never cleaned my chimney until two weeks ago when my mother pointed out that the kitchen equipment looked disgusting. Upon hearing her comment, naturally, I Googled ‘how to clean chimney oil’. Hundreds of methods and links showed up in .5 seconds. Take a look below to know what worked well for me.

I cleaned the body of the chimney with a 1: 1 solution of dishwasher and water. I used a sponge to scrub all the grease stains. You can use any non-abrasive scrubber.

• I took out the filters from the chimney hood and dipped them in boiling water. 

• I let it soak for 2-3 hours in a cleaning solution. 

• Once, the filter was dried.

• I rubbed the filter with a cloth soaked with paint thinner.

• I would advise you to give caustic soda or sodium Hydroxide a chance as well.

• You will need to sprinkle the soda on the filter. 

• Then, pour hot water on the surface area and let it rest for an hour or two. 

• Lastly, wash the filter in clean water and let it dry.
