In the last month, I kept putting off the task of cleaning my bathroom taps. They looked fine until one day, I noticed how dull and spotted they had become. I knew it was time they needed a deep clean but I was worried about how to clean chrome taps without ripping out their original shine. So, I researched about it and found a few quick methods. I have shared the same below.

How to Keep Chrome Taps Clean with Kitchen Ingredients?

Here are some simple hacks for how to clean chrome bath taps at home in just 30 minutes by following any of these routines once a week..

  1. Washing Up Liquid / Soap: Prepare a solution of warm water and a few drops of laundry detergent or less amount of soap. Then, dampen a soft cloth in the solution and lightly wipe down your taps.

  2. Baby Oil: You can use a microfiber cloth to gently wipe the taps by adding a few drops of baby oil to get dirt-free taps.

  3. Vinegar: To cover the entire tap surface and for easy application you can use a spray bottle. While dealing with vinegar, make sure to use vinegar diluted in water mixed in equal amounts. Let the solution sit for a few minutes and then, wipe the taps with a microfiber cloth.

  4. Lime Juice: If you notice any limescale build-up on your chrome taps which dulls its original shine, then lemon juice is the best ingredient. To remove the residues, you have to mix lime juice and water in equal parts. Then, use a microfiber cloth or a spray bottle to apply the solution and scrub using a toothbrush. Lastly, use fresh water to rinse the taps.

I hope this helps.

Recently, I hired a NoBroker plumber to clean my chrome taps. I observed the measures he took for cleaning chrome taps. He used a towel to wipe off my tap, followed by a non-abrasive cleaner, a soft toothbrush to gently scrape the tap, and so on. To find out how to keep your chrome taps shining and stop dirt and grime buildup, read below.

How Do You Clean Chrome Taps?

The experts assembled all the tools needed, including a soft toothbrush, dry cloth, microfiber towel, and non-abrasive cleaner, before beginning the following cleaning procedure.

  • He began by lightly cleaning chrome bathroom faucets with a cloth after wetting them. This eliminated any loose dust or grime.

  • He rinsed the tap and dabbed a clean section of the cloth with a tiny amount of the non-abrasive cleanser.

  • He washed the tap lightly in circular strokes to get rid of any stains or streaks.

  • He used a soft toothbrush for spots that were difficult to reach.

  • He then gave the tap a good rinse to get rid of any remaining cleaning.

  • In the end, he used a dry cloth to quickly dry the chrome tap to avoid marks and water stains. He gave the tap a Simichrome polish until it was entirely dry and displayed a magnificent shine.

Moreover, he told me that if you'd like, you can add a dab of wax or chrome polish to improve the sheen and add more coverage against fingerprints and water stains. You can also hire a plumber and get your faucet cleaned by clicking the below link:
