Hi buddy. I can tell you how to clean drain on dishwasher. After a cycle, I recently found standing water on the dishwasher floor. Hence, I called a plumber to fix it and observed the process he performed. He began by emptying the dishwasher, taking out the filter, clearing the drain, and freshening it up.

The drain is an essential part that keeps the dishes clean by removing the soiled water from the cycle. To clean the drain in a dishwasher, the plumber performed the following steps:

Empty and Switch Off the Dishwasher

For access to the drain, he had to take off the dishwasher's lower rack. He then turned off the breaker. You can even disconnect the dishwasher before cleaning the drain.

Dishwasher Filter Removal

On the interior floor of the dishwasher was a filter that covered the drain in our case. He took out filters that were covering the dishwasher drain with a screwdriver.

Clean the Filter

• He then poured some hot water into a big bowl or sink, along with a few drops of dishwashing liquid that had been degreased.

• To release the debris, he soaked the filter for a short while.

• He cleared the filter of any debris, particularly paper label fragments that were adhered to it, using a nylon brush with soft bristles.

• Then he thoroughly rinsed it in warm water and let it air-dry.

He utilised an auger to clean the drain and drain line since he thought there might be a big clog in the drain.

Clean the Drain

• Now, to drain, he added 1/4 cup of baking soda.

• Following that, he filled the drain opening with 1/2 cup of distilled vinegar. The foaming occurred as the products reacted.

• He left the mixture for ten to fifteen minutes to work.

• After that, he put the filter and any screens over the drain back together.

Run a Cleaning Cycle

The final step of how do you clean dishwasher drain is running a cleaning cycle.

• After putting the filters back together, he flipped the electrical breaker.

• On the upper dish rack, he placed a bowl filled with one cup of distilled white vinegar.

• He then ran a standard wash cycle. 

• After the washing cycle was finished, he opened the dishwasher door and sprinkled one cup of dry baking soda on the wet floor.

• He then rinsed the dishwasher with hot water.

• Finally, he let the dishwasher's interior air dry by opening the door.
