The baking soda has to be scattered all over the electric stovetop. Then take the towel out of the sink and wring it out. The towel has to be rested over the baking soda for 15 minutes.Now, take the towel out and scrub the stovetop till the baking soda is no longer visible.
You need to scrub the stovetop gently and not apply too much force. If the mess remains, then put more baking soda and repeat the above step.
Coming back to using vinegar, spray the vinegar on the electric stovetop. After that, use a microfiber cloth to wipe it off. Then take another dry cloth to do a final wipe.
Either vinegar or baking soda can be used to do the job. However, It is not advisable to use them together.
