When it comes to cleaning engineered wood floors, dry cleaning is the best way to clean engineered wooden floors in comparison to wet cleaning. I regularly vacuum the floor and sometimes use a damp, well-wrung-out cloth or mop.

How to Clean Engineered Hardwood Floors?

The process that I follow while cleaning engineered hardwood floors is as follows;

  • I regularly vacuum, and sweep the floor. I believe basic cleaning should ideally take place twice a week in sections of the house with less foot traffic.

  • I also use a moist mop, not a wet one while cleaning engineered wood. If there is too much moisture on your floors, it will seep through the boards and harm the subfloor, possibly causing warping. Therefore, I ensure to fully wring out the mop after dipping it into the cleaning solution.

  • I make the cleaning solution by mixing; 1 bucket of warm water, with 3/4 cup of olive oil, and 1/2 cup of lemon juice.

  • After I've finished mopping, I ensure to remove any leftover moisture or standing water with a fresh towel.

This is the standard procedure that I follow while cleaning engineered hardwood floors. Now I know that regular cleaning can be a tedious task, so I often hire cleaning experts from NoBroker and get the job done seamlessly.
