Here is how you can clean your IFB washing machine top load:

• Prepare cleaning supplies, including white vinegar, baking soda, a soft cloth or sponge, and an old toothbrush.

• Remove any clothes or items from the drum.

• Remove the detergent dispenser drawer and soak it in warm, soapy water. Scrub it clean with a toothbrush and rinse thoroughly.

• Inspect the rubber door seal for mould or debris. Wipe it down with a damp cloth soaked in a mixture of water and vinegar. Pay special attention to crevices.

• IFB machines often have a cleaning cycle. If yours has it as well, run it using hot water and add 1 cup of white vinegar to the detergent compartment. This helps clean the internal components.

• To remove odours and residue, run an empty load on the hottest cycle with 1/2 cup of baking soda in the drum.

• Clean the exterior and control panel with a damp cloth. Be careful not to let water seep into the machine's controls.

• Check and clean the machine's lint filter, usually located near the bottom front panel.

• Perform these cleaning steps monthly and leave the door ajar between washes to prevent mould growth.
