Italian marbles are quite costly and as the name suggests, these need to be imported. Due to this reason, maintaining and cleaning Italian marble on a regular basis is very important. I had Italian marble installed in my house as well, and to keep it cleaned, I learned about Do’s and Don’t of Italian Marble.

Using mild soap, sweeping the marble daily, etc. are some of the best cleaning tips. Let me share the important tips with you.

Do’s and Don'ts of Italian Marble Floor Cleaning

To maintain my italian marble floor, I take care of the below points.

Things You Need to DO

  • Italian Marbles are porous in nature, and you need to clean the stain on the spot. This needs to be done to retain their shiny and elegant appearance.

  • Mild soaps are best for them as they are neither acidic nor basic in nature.

  • You need to sweep them daily as it helps retain their shine and clean look.

  • You can also use sealants to increase the lifespan of your Italian Marble.

These are the things that you need to ensure while cleaning Italian marble flooring.

Things You Need to Avoid

  • One of the things that I have learned over the years is not to let them air dry. Doing this leaves a long-lasting mark.

  • Sweeping every day is good, but don’t mop after that, as it will degrade the quality of the marble. You can mop once a week.

  • When cleaning, make sure to lift the objects, such as furniture, etc., instead of dragging them. This could leave scratch marks on the floor or worse.

  • While trying to remove stains from the marble floor, don’t rub. This reduces the luster of the marble.

These points might seem challenging but when you start following these daily, the process just becomes easier. Hopefully, these points about how to clean Italian marble floor at home have been helpful to you.

Hi Buddy, Being a housewife with two kids, keeping the royal sheen of my marble flooring is indeed a very big task. The beauty of your space is enhanced by a spotless marble floor. However, frequent maintenance is required to keep this marble floor looking its best. I would like to share a few tips on how to clean Italian marble floor at home? Get Italian Marble Machine Polished via NoBroker Premium Cleaning Services To keep marble floors clean and beautiful, there are several cleaning tips. Marble is a delicate material. It has a porous nature and absorbs stains easily. Its suppleness also renders it prone to cracks and abrasion. Here are some simple Italian marble floor cleaning methods to help you maintain your regal marble flooring:
  • Sweep using a microfiber broom:
Do not leave dust on marble for an extended period of time. Sweep the floor with a microfiber broom on a daily basis. Sweep the floor lightly and do not be rough on it. This is the most straightforward and cost-effective method for keeping marble floors clean. Protect your floor from grime and dust by using doormats in high-traffic areas
  • For mopping, use a light soapy solution:
Mop your marble floor with a gentle soapy solution. Clean the floor with a pail of lukewarm water and a tiny amount of dishwashing liquid soap, such as Vim dish liquid. This soapy solution is gentle enough to treat your marble floor with extra care while also removing stubborn filth. Wipe the floor with a soft mop (ideally a soft cotton cloth) using gentle strokes. Please be careful not to get the mop too wet because marble is porous and might absorb excess water, producing water streaks on the floor
  • For stubborn stains, use an Italian marble floor cleaner:
If the floors are dirtier than usual and a stronger cleaning solution is needed, mix a little amount of marble cleaning solution into the cleaning water. There are some excellent marble floor cleaners on the market. Always follow the manufacturer's instructions on the bottle's backside. Lizol and Mr. Muscle’s marble floor cleaner are two high-quality Italian marble cleaners.
  • To avoid stains, dab the spill right away:
Any spill on the marble floor should be dabbed rather than wiped with a soft cotton cloth. Blot the spill right away and don't let it sit for too long. If necessary, clean the spill with a mild soapy solution or the best handheld vacuum for pet hair. Rub the stain gently in straight lines. Scrub in a circular manner to avoid damaging the stone I conclude my answer here about how to clean Italian marble floor at home. I hope this helps:) Read More: How To Clean Marble Floor In Bathroom?
