Last weekend, I cleaned my granite kitchen slab using a unique hack I learned from my mom. It worked wonders, and I’d love to share the steps with you. I believe this is the best way to clean granite slabs & countertops.

How to Clean Granite Slabs in Kitchen?

Granite is a porous stone, so some spills can seep through and stain your countertops. Here’s how I clean my granite countertops:

  • I combined hydrogen peroxide with a small amount of dish soap. This mixture works well to remove stains off granite without causing any harm to it.

  • To make sure the stains were completely covered, I sprayed the solution directly onto the granite slab's affected spots.

  • I allowed the solution to sit on the stain for around ten to fifteen minutes .

  • After that, I carefully washed the area to remove the stain using a soft cloth or sponge.

  • Finally, I scrubbed the area, then rinsed it with clean water and used a cloth to dry it. This avoided leaving any water stains.

Using this method, I was able to remove the stains and bring back the natural shine of my granite countertops.

Granite slabs for the kitchen are large, flat pieces of natural stone usually used as kitchen countertops. They offer durability, resistance to heat and scratches, and an elegant appearance, and that is why we opted for them for our new house. How to Remove Oil Stain from Kitchen Slab?

If the stain is less, you can mix dishwashing liquid with water and clean the stains with the solution. But if the stains are hard and you want to opt for thorough cleaning, then you can:

  • Use a paper towel or cloth to blot up any excess oil on the surface.

  • Make a paste with baking soda and water.

  • Apply it to the stain and let it sit for 15-20 minutes.

  • Use a soft brush or sponge to gently scrub the stained area in a circular motion.

  • Rinse the area with warm water and repeat the process if needed.

Cleaning granite slabs is very easy, so it won’t take much of your time. If you have more suggestions, you can share them here.

What is the Standard Height of Kitchen Slab in India?

Since the early 2000s, granite kitchen slabs have remained quite popular. This natural stone is attractive, bacteria and stain-resistant, and has a brilliant sheen. Keep in mind that granite requires a specific cleaning practise to prevent the sealer from wearing off. I have a granite slab in my kitchen, hence let me tell you how to clean kitchen granite slab.

For how to clean granite slabs, follow these guidelines:
  • Avoid using abrasive scrubbing equipment, strong chemicals, or acidic cleaners:

Warm water, mild dish soap, and a soft microfiber cloth are the only cleaning supplies you'll need. Avoid using vinegar because it can dull the granite and degrade the sealant—though vinegar can be used in a variety of other ways around the house! Abrasive scrubbers should also be avoided because they can scratch the stone.

  • It is imperative to clean spills:

It is because granite isn't as porous as marble and is less prone to absorbing oils and stains. Nonetheless, as a basic precaution, clean spills with a soft towel as soon as possible.

  • Dry the countertop:

If you don't use a clean microfiber cloth to dry the slab when you're done, you'll get water streaks.

  • To clean, use warm water and a few drops of dish soap:

Soak a cloth in water and apply a small amount of soap to the slab or your cloth. To clean the surface, wipe it down once. To avoid spreading food, filth, and grease, wring your rag in fresh water on a regular basis. Remove any soap residue off the slab by rinsing your rag and wiping it down with new water when you've finished with the soap.

  • Consider using a granite countertop cleaner:

Granite countertop cleaning supplies can be found in the cleaning section of your grocery or big box shop. Special cleaners aren't necessary—warm water and soap will suffice—but they are available if you choose to use them.

I hope these above-mentioned suggestions would help you with how to clean kitchen granite slab.
