Weekly dusting of lampshades should be done as part of regular housekeeping. The answer to the query, “How to clean lampshade?” varies depending on the type of lampshade material. As my lampshade is a fabric one, I can share the steps that I follow while cleaning it.

How can I Clean a Lampshade?

  • To get rid of dust and grime, I use a feather duster and occasionally a vacuum.

  • Next, I use a tub or sink to combine a teaspoon of mild laundry detergent with fresh water. I then hold the shade by its metal frame and dip it into the soapy water.

  • Ultimately, I give the shade a quick rinse in warm water and set it aside to air dry on a level surface.

How do You Clean a Lampshade from any Noticeable Stains?

  • I mix one tablespoon of baking soda with a small amount of warm water to make a cleaning solution that I use to get rid of tough stains from my white fabric lampshade. Let the paste soak for fifteen minutes.

  • Followed by washing it with fresh water, and then letting it air dry.

How Can I Clean My Lamp Shades Made Up of Paper?

I must highlight that if your lampshade is made of paper then you should not place anything damp on it. Doing so would discolour the lampshade. The step in cleaning paper lampshades is to lightly dust them using a soft brush or lint roller.
