I always clean my house on the weekends but to be honest, not often do I clean the light fixtures of my house. This time I noticed a thick layer of dust over them and decided to clean it. I did some research to know how to clean light fixtures.

After gathering them, follow the below steps accordingly. 

• Turn off all the lights and also the electricity to them and cover the area beneath the fixture with a Blanket. 

• Next, use a microfiber cloth to wipe off the dust from the fixtures.

• Now, use the vacuum cleaner to remove all the dust and debris. 

• Mix equal parts of white vinegar and water in a spray bottle and spray it over the light fixture. 

• Wipe it off with a clean with a dry microfiber cloth.

• First, you will have to switch off any lights you intend to clean and give the bulbs at least 30 minutes to fully cool.

• Then you must clean light bulbs, covers, and fixtures gently with a microfiber cloth or electrostatic duster to get rid of surface dust.

• You should add warm water and a tiny amount of gentle dish soap to a dishpan or sink.

• Use one hand to firmly hold the bulb while using the other to unscrew or loosen it to remove light covers or lamps.

• Once you remove the final screw or clip, make sure you hold on firmly. Then you must dispose of any loose trash in the garbage.

• You must keep bulbs and coverings for five to ten minutes in soapy water. Screw light bulbs out while they are soaking, then use a cloth and cleaning solution to carefully wipe them. When installing fixtures, let the surface dry.

• When you unscrew light bulbs, don't use excessive force. If bulbs are tightly screwed in, put on a textured work glove to increase contact and safeguard your hand in case it fractures.

• Dampen a microfiber cloth with a cleanser to clean fixtures, including toggles or switches. Be careful not to spray the solution directly on the fixtures.

• Gently scrub them with a cloth to remove any last bits of dirt from the bulbs or covers. After cleaning them with new water, thoroughly towel-dry them with a microfiber cloth before replacing them.
