Everyone loves to indulge in painting pots, clothes, walls, or whatever it be in their leisure time but often comes up with a question: how to clean paint brushes without much fuss? You cannot go on buying brushes every time you paint something, so get to know some hacks that can help you out. There are ample ways that can help you to make your brush look all new and you need not always use any chemicals or cleaning products as well.

How to clean paint brushes?

Here are some methods to make your paintbrush all new:

  • Dip your brush in a mixture of warm water and soap for some time and wash it thoroughly until all the paint gets removed

  • Soak the brush in Vinegar if you feel the paint is hard to be removed easily

  • You can also dip the head of the brush in vinegar and bring it to a boil. This also is a great way to remove paint

How to clean brushes in turpentine?

Turpentine is used as a paint solvent and usually while buying paints, one also buys turpentine oil as it easily removes paint from the hands and is an effective way to clean brushes as well. Just let your paintbrush soak in a bucket of turpentine oil for a few minutes, take it out and clean the brush with a cloth, that’s it.

However, do remember that turpentine is a hard solution that also affects the brush. The adhesive gets diluted in the oil for which the hair or bristles might come off so it is better to avoid using any chemical solution.

I hope you have got an idea of how to clean paint brushes at home as well as in turpentine oil.
