I had a clogged shower head as a result of which there was reduced water pressure. It was difficult to take shower baths because of this. So I decided to clean my shower head with vinegar. As it is readily available in my household. However, when I opened my storage cabinet I realised that my vinegar stock is empty. Hence, I had to think of how to clean shower head without vinegar. I checked for substitute methods online and found three of them. Out of these 3, I opted for baking soda.
How to Clean Clogged Shower Head Without Vinegar?
Baking Soda
I first took some warm water and mixed it with half a cup of baking soda. Then a paste was formed. I applied it on the shower head for 30 to 35 minutes and let it rest. Then I took a fresh cloth and wiped off the paste. After that I started the shower to filter out any excess paste struck in the shower holes. I followed this method and was satisfied with the result. The other 2 methods are,
Soda
You can take a can of soda and empty it into a plastic bag. Then attach the plastic bag to the shower head with a rubber band and firmly place it. The bag should be left undisturbed for half an hour. Then take out the bag and the rubber band. After this, you can dispose of the soda down the drain. Later, you can switch on the shower to get rid of any residue.
Lemon Juice
Take two cups, one containing water and the other lemon juice. Mix them in a plastic bag. The bag should then be attached to the shower head with a rubber band. The mixture in the bag should be allowed to rest for 35-40 minutes. This helps the citric acid to take away any mineral buildup. The bag and the rubber band should be removed after 35 to 40 minutes.
