We don't have a garden hose so I was quite worried about how do you clean solar panels on roof. Thankfully, my neighbour shared with me an easy way. Just grab some daily-use items like a soft broom, a brush, a bucket of warm water and mild dish soap. Then follow the instructions I am sharing next.

How Do You Clean Solar Panels on Your Roof?

You can easily clean your solar panels at home. Here are the steps on how to clean solar roof panels

• Turn Off the System: Always begin by turning off the solar panel system to ensure safety during the cleaning process.

• Brush Off Loose Debris: Use a soft broom or brush to gently sweep away loose dirt, leaves, and debris from the panels.

• Prepare a Cleaning Solution: Mix a bucket of warm water with a few drops of mild dish soap. Please avoid using harsh chemicals that could damage the panels.

• Clean with a Soft Cloth: Dampen a soft cloth or sponge in the soapy water, wring it out, and gently wipe down each panel, concentrating on any stubborn spots.

• Rinse and Dry: Pour clean water over the panels using a watering can, then let them air dry completely.

I have always loved the usage of solar panels maybe because I have seen how it works from close. There is a factory in our neighbourhood which has solar panels installed on its roof and the bright light at night has interested a lot of people who too are planning to install them soon. Other things that can be used as well for cleaning the panels are:

• Glass cleaners can also be used but not too much

• ¼ cup of vinegar mixed with two cups of water can be used as well

• Warm water and mild soap can also be used.

He also stated that the best thing to clean the solar panels is by using a soft rag or biodegradable soap.

I think one can clean up the panels like he cleans the glass but must take extra care while doing so and that's it. If there are a number of solar panels, it is better to hire experts for the task.

Solar panels must be cleaned every 6 months to a year so that they can last long and to maintain productivity.
