Usually, solar panels are cleaned by the rainwater itself but sometimes after rain, dirt and dust stick to the wet solar panels and may hamper their efficiency. There are several ways of solar panel cleaning without water. We have a solar panel installed on our roof and we clean with a microfiber cloth. There are other ways you can opt for, so let me share them.

What are the Ways for Cleaning Solar Panels without Water?

Cleaning the solar panels with water is perhaps the best way but you can implement other methods as well to clean the panels. Here are some methods on how to clean solar panels without water:

Cleaning with a Soft Brush:

To clean the solar panels, you can use a soft brush with natural bristles to gently brush off dust and debris. Make sure the brush is clean and doesn't scratch the surface of the solar panels.

Compressed Air:

You can use a can of compressed air to blow away loose dirt and dust. Make sure to hold the can at a distance and use short bursts to avoid damaging the solar panels.

Vacuum Cleaner:

If the solar panels are on a reachable surface, you can use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to remove loose dirt.

Cleaning Wipes:

There are commercial cleaning wipes available that are designed for electronic devices. Ensure they are safe for use on solar panels and won't leave residues.

These are some cleaning methods you can implement to get your solar panels cleaned.
