The ease of cleaning ceiling depends on its type. For example, textured ceilings, such as popcorn ceilings, require a lot of patience and finesse. Luckily, I have a flat ceiling and the process of cleaning is quite simple and easy. Since I clean my ceiling all the time, I can help you with the steps of cleaning your ceiling. I have added the steps below.

How do you Clean a Ceiling?

Before you start cleaning your ceiling, you must gather a few supplies such as

• Cloth or Newspaper to cover the whole floor.

• Expandable microfiber cloths 

• A Mop

• A mild cleaning solution. 

After gathering all the supplies, follow the steps mentioned below. 

• Spread out the cloth or newspapers on the floor to cover it properly. 

• Next, attach an expandable microfiber cloth to the mop and spray some cleaning solution over it. 

• Now, run the mop across the ceiling to clean it. Also, make sure to check the cloth in between to ensure that it’s not too dirty. If it becomes dirty, swap it for a clean cloth. 

• Add another cloth to the mop and wipe the whole ceiling without spraying the cleaning solution.

• After that, remove the cloth or newspaper that you have used to cover the floor. 

If you are dealing with a popcorn ceiling, you will have to climb the ladder and work on the uneven surface a little harder than this.

How to Wash a Ceiling Flat?

1. To clean a flat ceiling, you should lay down a protective covering, such as a large old piece of cloth to cover the floors. 

2. Make a cleaning solution by mixing a few drops of dish soap in water. Transfer this into a spray bottle.

3. Spray the solution on a microfiber cloth mop and run the mop across the ceiling well. 

4. When you clean the ceiling, keep a check on the mop. If it gets dirty, change it to a new one and continue cleaning. 

5. After you have cleaned the wall, change the cloth with a dry one and wipe the ceiling well.

6. Remove the protective covering from the floor and clean it well with a vacuum cleaner. 

How to Clean a Ceiling which is Textured?

1. For this too, lay down a protective covering to safeguard your floors while cleaning. 

2. Place a ladder and ask someone to keep a watch on the ladder while you clean. Both of you should wear a face mask, too. 

3. Now, take a vacuum cleaner with attachments and run it along the ceiling. Do this till you’re satisfied with the cleaning. 

4. Take off the protective covering from the floor and clean it with the vacuum cleaner.
