1. The floor should be swept or vacuumed to get rid of any grit and dirt particles.

2. Use a sponge or mop that has nearly dried off and a small bit of normal warm water to lightly dampen the travertine surface. Avoid soaking travertine tiles in water because they can seep beyond sealant or go into grout lines and cause deterioration, staining, and the development of mould and mildew.

3. When it's time to clean the floor, mix a gallon of water with a spoonful of gentle, non-acidic dish soap. Use this remedy to damp mop the floor. To get rid of any leftover residue, mop once again with clean water. Drying the area with a towel is also advised.

4. Since you don't want to scratch the stone but yet need to use anything harsh to clean the grout, cleansing the caulk over travertine tiles can be challenging. Sodium bicarbonate and water should be combined in equal amounts to make a gritty paste if the grout lines need to be cleaned. Use a little brush to gently scrape this slightly abrasive material into the grout, being careful not to scratch or etch the tile's edges.
