1. First of all, remove the bedding, which includes mattress pads, sheets, covers, and pillows. 

2. Then, you need to vacuum the headboard and bed base before wet cleaning. Make sure you remove all the dirt and dust from the surface. 

3. Once done, use a suitable fabric cleaner. Some fabrics require careful handling and cleaning. If you have cotton fabric like ours, then you can go for deep scrubbing and bleaching. However, I read that certain fabrics like velvet and leather need special cleaning. 

4. Check the washing instructions on the tag and then test the cleaners on a small area, just to be sure there is no discoloration or damage. 

5. I usually opt for steam cleaning, as it involves using heat to sanitise the dust and also helps remove stubborn stains. You can also use any spot cleaner, specifically designed for upholstery.

How to Remove Deep Stains from Upholstered Beds?

Once, I got oil stains on our bed, and I panicked because I didn’t know how to remove such stains. My mother suggested using dish soap, vinegar and rubbing alcohol to wipe the stains away. If this does not help you, I’d suggest taking a professional deep cleaning service.

2. Then, you should follow it up by mixing lukewarm water and a little bit of mild detergent. Dip a sponge in the mixture and wipe it onto the headboard. You can also use a soft cloth.

3. Don’t rub with a lot of force and avoid using a lot of mixture on the fabric while wiping.

4. To finish cleaning, you rinse the bed with a damp and soft cloth. This will remove all the soap residue.

Every once a month, you can use baking soda as a measure for deep cleaning the headboard. It will help deodorise it. You just need to sprinkle the soda on the fabric. Let it be for a couple of hours and then, you can bot the region with a paper towel and vacuum to finish,
