How to Clean Vestar AC at Home?
Here are the steps to clean the AC I came across.
If you have been using it, it probably has some moisture inside. Just switch it to the fan for 30 to 40 minutes to dry it out a bit.
Before you open anything up, just power off.
Use a big garbage bag and tape it under the unit to catch all the drips and dust. You can use an AC cleaning bag, too, if you have one.
Lift it gently. Some panels come off completely, and others just stay up. Either way works.
Just unclip them and brush off the loose dust using a vacuum.
Mix mild soap and cool water to do the job. Scrub gently, rinse well, and let the air dry.
Just like the main filters. You can also spray a little AC cleaner on them.
You can use a small blower to get rid of dust; just be gentle, as they are delicate.
Use one of those no-rinse coil cleaners. Spray it, let it sit for 20 to 30 minutes, and you are done.
Spray this on the filters, fins, and coils. Let it sit for a few minutes before putting anything back.
Make sure everything’s completely dry, then just slide the filters back in. Close up the panel and wipe it down if it’s dusty.
If you can access it, disconnect the pipe and flush it out with water or a drain cleaner kit. Let it air-dry a bit before reconnecting.
Once everything’s back in place, plug it in and turn on the AC for 15 to 20 mins.
