My mother suggested to me the following steps on how to clean white cabinets that have yellowed.
You can remove all the items from the cabinet and cover the surroundings with any cloth or old newspapers.
Then, wipe off the surfaces with a wet cloth to remove all the dust and gently clean it.
Make a mild soap solution with warm water and wipe down the surface of the cabinet using a cloth. Focus on the yellowed stains and repeat this process till you get the surface cleaned.
You can now make a paste using baking soda and water, and apply it on areas with tougher stains. After you’re done, wipe down the surface with a damp cloth.
Finally, leave the cabinets to dry for a while after cleaning to prevent moisture related issues.
There are some preventive measures that my mother suggested to avoid yellow stains. I am sharing the same below for your reference.
Use UV-protected films on windows. This will reduce the exposure to harsh sunlight.
Make sure the kitchen room is properly ventilated to minimise humidity.
Avoid placing cabinets in areas with direct sunlight.
