Hello there. I would like to help you with how to connect PVC to CPVC pipe. The most common way to join PVC with CPVC pipes is by creating a mechanical joint with a male threaded pipe fitting glued to one pipe and a female threaded pipe fitting glued to the other pipe. The pipes are then connected with the threaded fittings. I have shared the detailed process ‌below.

How to Connect PVC Pipe to CPVC Pipe?

Here is the method you can follow:

  1. First up, clean the pipe and brush the CPVC primer on the exterior of the pipe and the interior of the fitting.

  2. Brush the exterior and inside of the fitting lightly using the CVPC cement or glue.

  3. Now, slide the pipe into the fitting quickly, giving the pipe a quarter-turn twist inside the fitting. This will spread the glue between the two fittings, developing a bond.

  4. Ensure to hold the joint together for about half a minute before letting go. This is because the fitting and pipe will want to slip apart from each other.

  5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 in order to glue a second fitting onto the other pipe.

  6. Finally, wrap the metal threads using teflon tape or apply thread sealant and tighten the fittings together using pliers or a wrench.

This is all from my side. I hope you now know how to connect PVC to CPVC.
