Before jumping on to how to convert DKT Land to register let us understand in detail what is DKT, what is its meaning and who gets the DKT land. DKT or Darakastu land is a wasteland assigned to the poor and downtrodden people of the state in Andhra Pradesh. The state government assigns land to poor people who do not have enough resources. This land is assigned for cultivation purposes only and no transaction such as sale or buying can happen on this land. I don’t know about converting DKT land into register land but I know for sure that the assignee cannot sell this land to anyone. He/she can only return the land to the government after producing their income certificates. The Andhra Pradesh government in 2017 was reported to initiate assigning D Patta to DKT lands. D patta is assigned to the assignee by the government at the time of land allotment. The easiest way to extract D Patta is by visiting the MeeSeva website and scrolling down to ‘Revenue Department Services.’ When you click on it, a host of services will appear on the screen. You will have to navigate to ‘Extract House Site/ D Form Patta Application’ and click on it. Only registered users will be able to extract D patta by logging in to the portal.

If you are looking for DKT meaning, let me tell you that DKT land is a wasteland that is donated to the underprivileged people of the Andhra Pradesh state. The state government distributes land to the underprivileged who lack sufficient finances. This area is only designated for agricultural use; no commercial activity, such as the sale or purchase, is permitted on this site.

D form land means the Government unused land will be provided to the village's poorer residents for agricultural use.

DK Patta land means

DKT land is also known as Darakastu land. Darakastu land meaning is a government-owned wasteland that has been given to the landless poor only for agricultural use.

  • People who live in poverty and are primarily from Other Backward Classes (OBC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Scheduled Castes (SC) are the beneficiaries of DKT land.

  • This land cannot be sold or purchased; it may only be used for agricultural reasons. You can, however, give the government the land back.

  • You may transfer the DKT land to your legal heir in accordance with the updated laws and regulations after presenting the income certificate and these.

However, as far as I know, there is no such process to understand how to convert DKT land into a registry country. But I am certain that the transferee cannot sell that land to anyone. He must first produce his income certifications to the government before he can return the land to them.

The lands granted to the landless are hereditary but cannot be sold. If the county collector or another officer designated by him violates this clause, the county collector or that officer has the authority to seize the transferred lands, evict the occupant after giving him a reasonable chance to leave, and return the land to the original assignee or his legal heir.

I really love it when the government does things to empower the poor and oppressed. Even if it is the smallest thing that one can imagine. I recently came to know about DKT land in Andhra Pradesh. The poor and oppressed, especially landless agricultural labourers, who lack any other source of revenue, are granted government-assigned cultivable waste lands. Land assignments are also provided to former service members (NCOs), freedom fighters, political sufferers, etc. The DKT land rules in Andhra Pradesh states that the Pattas issued under it would usually contain a clause saying that such assigned lands are inheritable but not alienable in addition to a number of other restrictions. In the Andhra Area, it is known as DKT Patta or Darkhast Patta, and in the Telangana Area, it is known as Lavani Patta. But what I could not really understand was how to convert DKT land to patta.

The Tahsildar may declare the government-allocated lands vacant and available for re-assignment if they are not being farmed, purchased, or sold by other low-income people.

How to convert dkt land to register in andhra pradesh?

There is no process outlined as of yet through which one can convert DKT land to Patta land. But as already mentioned by Mr Nimish and Mis Ana, if you wish to convert DKT land into Patta land to sell it off, you definitely cannot do so. There are two reasons for this.

  1. Since the Government allots this land to the lower caste, poor and downtrodden people of Andhra Pradesh, so technically the land belongs to the government. And you cannot sell government land.

  2. Since these lands belong to the lower caste people, who got very little chance to read or study, that’s why the government has introduced a law to prohibit the selling of DKT land. Smart people can take advantage of illiterate people. They can force poor people to sell the land for some cash.

Nevertheless, you can go through Mr Nimish’s and Miss Ana’s answer if you wish to extract D Patta through the MeeSeva website and gain a little more understanding on how to convert DKT land to patta.

Hi there,

DKT land means Darakastu land. This is the DKT land full form. As mentioned by Mr. Nimish the DKT land is a wasteland which has been given to poor or downtrodden people. This initiative was taken so that people from lower castes such as SC/ST or OBC get a position in the society. This initiative in turn helped the poor people get a home. Now, as per DKT land rules, you cannot sell it without the permission of the government. As Nimish has mentioned you need to show the income certificate to sell the Darakastu land. I will explain this in Telugu.

DKT land rules in Telugu

I can give you logic as to why you cannot sell DKT land.

Since these lands belong to the lower caste people, who got very little chance to read or study, that's why the government has introduced a law to prohibit the selling of DKT land. Smart people can take advantage of illiterate people. They can force poor people to sell the land for some cash.

Also, we must remember that DKT is a Government land that was granted to the lower caste without any fee. So, at the end of the day, it belongs to Government and it is the Government that can make the decision to sell the land.

This is what I wanted to say about what DKT land means. I hope you liked my answer.
