Summer is here to fry us once again! :P Well, although we love to turn on the air conditioner and enjoy the air, it affects our health in the worst way possible. What is more concerning is the huge amount we need to pay as electricity bill. So, last year I decided to cool my room naturally during the warm summers. It worked out for me well, so I will share with you some easy ways on how to cool a room without AC.
How to make a room cooler without AC?
- Curtains
We all like to buy light coloured curtains to decorate our room, but for warm summers this is not the right option one should go for. Instead, you can purchase black drapes which block the sunlight. I have a room in the attic and it is my office for the time being. To prevent sunlight from entering the room I have purchased the black drapes and this method worked out well for me.
2. Small Plants
You can keep small plants such as snake plants, money plants in your room. These plants purify the air surrounding you. But you should keep these plants near windows or balconies as these plants also increase humidity. So, to maintain a healthy lifestyle you can follow this method as well.
3. Bucket of water
The most effective way to reduce the heat in the room is to use a bucket of water. When I was a kid I did not have an air conditioner. During the afternoon I have seen my mom keeping a bucket of water on the balcony to reduce the heat. It was pretty effective. She would pour some cool water in two to three buckets and keep it near the window or balcony.
These were my three tips on how to cool a room without AC. I hope you like it.
