It could be tough to paint perfect lines where the wall meets the ceiling. But over the years of doing it myself, I have kind of learned two tricks through which painting the perfect ceiling lines is possible. These two methods involve using a caulk and an angled brush for the paint job. I have added the steps for how to cut ceiling paint with these methods below.
How to Cut in Paint at Ceiling?
Method 1: Using Caulk
From my experience, I can say that this is the most time-consuming of the two methods. But this is the best way to create that crisp line where the ceiling meets the wall. Here are the steps for this method.
Start by adding painters tape to the ceiling and the wall about 1/8" apart from the corner line.
Next, add a line of caulk between the opening of the two strips.
Following that, use an ice cube along the caulk to make it smooth.
Finally, remove the painter's tape.
Method 2: Angled Brush
Though this method is less time-consuming, it takes a little bit of practice. Here are the steps you can follow:
Pick a 2” angled brush and apply paint to the wall around 1/4" down from the ceiling.
Before adding more paint to the brush, use it and do the same on the ceiling just like the last step.
The best way to do this would be to use the tip of the brush.
And that’s how to cut a ceiling with paint. Hope this helps.
