Recently, I realised my bedroom was cluttered with stuff I didn't even need. I planned to clean it up, and I can tell you after doing so, the difference was shocking. So, if you’re thinking about how to declutter your bedroom, let me walk you through the method that worked for me. I started decluttering my bedroom by clearing up small sections and then moving to bigger parts. I have shared the detailed steps for decluttering a bedroom below.
How to Declutter a Small Bedroom?
Here is the process I followed to clear up my bedroom:
I cleared up my bedside table, clearing off old books, random papers, and things I hadn’t touched in months.
I kept asking myself, "Do I really need this?" or "When did I last use this?"
Once I finished a small area, I moved to my wardrobe. That’s where I felt overwhelmed. Clothes that no longer fit or things I hadn’t worn in over a year filled half the closet. I bagged them up to donate, instantly freeing up space.
Then, it was time to clear under the bed—my secret hiding spot for forgotten items. It took some time, but I sorted through old shoes, papers, and knick-knacks, keeping only what I really needed.
One thing I learned is that it is best if you keep the things minimal. The less you have, the easier it is to maintain. Now that I know how to declutter my bedroom, I ensure to keep it that way by regularly sorting out what I no longer use.
