I still remember when we were hit by the COVID-19 wave. As a health enthusiast, I couldn’t go out for jogging or any exercise. Thankfully, I had a small room dedicated to gym purposes, equipped with a few dumbbells, a treadmill, and other essentials. So, I decided to make the most of my home gym every day, as it was impossible to exercise outside. During this time, I learned how to decorate a home gym effectively.
How to Design a Small Home Gym?
Here are the steps I followed in this regard,
Selected a colour scheme that would energise me: I used blues and greens to create a more tranquil ambiance.
Installed a large mirror: Installed a large mirror on one wall that helped me check my form and made the space feel larger and brighter.
Made sure the lighting was adequate: To make the space feel cosy and well-lit, I added a few floor lamps and placed movable overhead lights.
Used rubber matting for flooring: These mats are easy to maintain, offer superior cushioning, and protect my surfaces.
Installed shelving and hooks: I installed shelving units and hooks to store items like yoga mats, exercise bands, and dumbbells, keeping everything neat.
Added inspirational decor: To stay motivated and focused while working out, I customised the area with inspirational posters and wall decals.
Added a music system: Installed a good sound system so that I could play my favorite workout songs.
Included useful equipment: To meet all of my training demands, I made sure to have a treadmill, weights, and a yoga mat.
Included a fridge: I had two fridges at home, so I shifted one to my gym room and ensured it was loaded with water and sports drinks.
So if you are wondering how to decorate an exercise room, you can follow these steps. These steps will turn your gym room into a more motivating and functional space, enhancing your workout experience.
