Plain walls are a little bit of a bore. I wanted to give a new refreshing look to my wall so I found that 3D wall painting design is one way to go. So I looked online on how to do 3D wall painting designs yourself. Let me share the process that I came across.

Steps to Create 3D Wall Design

I came across the following step by step process to create a 3D wall design:

Wall Preparation

The wall needs to be cleaned. For this all the uneven textures on the wall have to be smoothened first. To take out dust and dirt the wall has to be thoroughly cleaned.

Picking the right tools

You have to choose wood, fabric or wallpaper based on your convenience. Also you need to arm yourself with glue, measuring tape and a knife. If you have the right tools you would be able to complete the project on time.

Taking a template or stencil

You can use a stencil to put forward the idea of the design that you need. If you need to opt for a stencil made it home, it can be done on thick cardboard or a thick sheet of paper. It would help your pattern to be visible in one space.

Application of Paint or Wallpaper

If the paint is applied on the wall then it should be according to the design done on the stencil. If you're applying wallpaper, then ensure all pieces of wallpaper are pasted according to the stencil pattern.

Final Touches

Once the 3D design is done, you can make changes before the final cut. Proper lighting can be added to make the 3D design look more bolder.

As I found that it would be time consuming, I hired a professional painter from NoBroker. They painted 3D designs on my wall exceptionally well.
