Dhanteras Puja is a religious ritual performed on the day of Dhanteras, which is two days prior to Diwali. First be aware that this year, Dhanteras is on Friday, November 10, 2023. Here is what you should be doing on that day-
Clean the entire house and make rangolis on the entrance
Draw red footprints to indicate the arrival of Goddess Laxmi
Place a kalash (with rice and five whole betel nuts in holy water) and a red piece of cloth
Place the new ornament or anything else that you bought on this day
Light the diyas and make sure it remain lit for at least 2 hours
Chant the mantra AumDhanDhanvantarayeNamha” for at least 108 times
Seek blessings from Lord Dhanwantari and it is done

On Dhanteras, we worship Goddess Lakshmi and pray for the wealth, success, prosperity, and wellbeing of our loved ones. On this day, we buy gold or something new or valuable to mark the arrival of Goddess Lakshmi in the home. Let me tell you how to do Dhanteras puja at home:
Take a red piece of cloth and put a Kalash on it.
Fill the Kalash with rice, 21 lotus seeds, and 5 whole betel nuts.
Above this, place a small pot filled with Gangajal and sugar.
Put silver coins on the pot and decorate it with a garland of flowers.
Place the coin or deity of Lord Ganesh and Goddess Laxmi on the left-hand side of the pot and the new silver utensils or any new item that you must have bought on the right-hand side.
Now, light a Diya and make sure it remains lit for at least 2 hours.
Offer traditional sweets as Naivaidya to the Goddess Laxmi and God Ganesh.
Take a Chowrang or Chowki and draw a small red Swastika using Kumkum on it.
Light a Diya and put it in the middle of the Swastika.
After that, sprinkle water around the Chowki three times and apply Kumkum and Haldi on the Diya.
Now, put an Rs. 1 coin in the Diya and offer some flowers.
Offer prayers for the overall well-being of the family members.
After performing the puja, place the Diya on the right-hand side outside the main entrance of your home.
Chant this Mantra – “AumDhanDhanvantarayeNamha” for a minimum of 108 times and seek blessing from Lord Dhanwantari.
Finally, just perform puja for Lord Ganesh and Goddess Laxmi and seek their blessings.
