After marriage, the first time when I started doing puja on my own at my home, I wasn’t aware of how to do Ganesh Puja at home daily. So, I called my mother and asked her about it. She informed me, doing Ganesha puja is a wonderful way to invite positivity and blessings into your life. She also shared a simple process, including choosing a clean space for the idol, setting up the attar, and so on. I have shared the detailed process below for you.
How to Do Daily Ganesh Puja at Home?
I have incorporated it into my daily schedule, and it consistently fills my house with a peaceful atmosphere. Here’s how I do it, and it’s really simple.
I pick a quiet, clean corner in my home and place a small table or platform with a clean cloth. On it, I place a Ganesh idol or picture. I like to add fresh flowers and a small lamp to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
Based on my mother’s suggestion, I keep things simple—incense sticks, a bell, a small bowl of water, and some fruits or sweets for offering.
Always wash my hands and face before starting.
Light a small lamp and incense sticks. The smell fills the room and makes it feel spiritual.
I then offer fresh flowers and place fruits or sweets in front of the idol.
After that, I chant a simple Ganesh mantra, “Om Gan Ganapataye Namah,” while focusing on the idol.
I take a moment to thank Lord Ganesh for his blessings and guidance.
I finish my puja by ringing the bell gently, offering a final prayer and cleaning up the area to keep it ready for the next day.
I hope this helps you understand how to do Ganesh Puja at home daily.

How to do Ganesha pooja at home: Preparations
I am assuming that you are looking to perform the puja for the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi.
Begin by cleaning your home entirely. This is considered a welcome sign for the lord. If you have a temple at your home, you can decorate it with flowers and lights.
I would advise you to bring home a clay idol of lord Ganesha. It is environment friendly and you can immerse (visarjit) the idol in a plant at your house.
Offer flowers, durva, modaks and karanji to the idol after placing him on top of a new saffron or an orange cloth.
How to perform Ganesh puja at home
Place the idol on a raised platform such as a throne (singhasan). Chant the prayers and mantras before keeping the idol in your temple or on a throne.
Wash his feet with holy water and then make panchamrit to bathe the ideal.
Now, keep five flowers in front of Lord Ganesha’s feet. After doing so, bestow padya and samarpan at the ideal’s feet.
At last, bathe the idol again with holy water and offer Lord Ganesha a new set of clothes.
Now offer Ganesh ji with chandan, durva, sindoor, garland and naivedyam.
You can do the Ganesh Chaturthi’s sixteen rituals pooja by calling a pandit at your residence.
Chant the aarti “Jai Jai Ganesh, jai Ganesh, jai Ganesh deva”.
Lord Ganesha is fond of modak and ladoo. On the day of this festival, bestow 21 sweets to the idol as bhog.
