First general body meeting (before housing society registration Mumbai):Firstly, promoters select the Chief Promoter (can be the builder) required resolutions like opening the society’s bank account are discussed. After that, the name of the society is decided. The registrar allows the name and grants permission to open an account in the bank. The Chief Promoter then collects Entrance Fees and Share Capital from every promoter and deposits it in the bank account.
Next, the Chief Promoter is required to submit a registration proposal to the registering authority within three months from the date when the Reservation Letter in the proposed society’s name is issued. You are also required to submit required documents, like application for reserving a name, 7/12 extract of the land, NA land certificate, duly approved construction layout, completion certificate, letter of Power of Attorney of the land, etc.
After submitting the application and required documents, the registrar will check all the details and issue a registration certificate. It is important to decide on the registration of the society within 2 months from the date of the society’s proposal submitted to the Registrar.
