Demand Drafts, commonly known as DDs, is a mechanism for one bank to start a transaction with another. It is a negotiable instrument that assures the designated payee will get a precise sum of money. If you want to know how to submit DD in Bank, I’d like to highlight a few points;

  • You have two options: either go to the bank branch that is closest to you or complete the online application on the official website.

  • Submit the form together with the necessary money if you want to pay for the DD with cash.

  • Don't forget to include the payee's name and bank address if you plan to pay using your bank account.

  • Important information must be included, including currency, the total amount, the payment's justification, and any extra instructions.

  • You must give the Bank your PAN if you want to know how to withdraw DD in Bank for the sum that is more than Rs. 50,000.

  • If you want to make a DD for a considerably smaller amount, bring identification and proof of address with you to the bank.

How to withdraw demand draft?

An encashment of a DD is no longer possible. For the purpose of preventing fraudulent transactions, Banks no longer pay a drawee in cash. Your Bank will only transfer funds to your Bank account if you are the payee when they receive a DD. Payment will be processed within one business day if your Bank account is with the same institution that issued the DD. The process could take up to three business days if the Banks are different.

I hope this helps you to understand how to withdraw money from demand draft.
