Quite recently, I noticed that the caulk between the tiles of my pooja room and living room was coming off. To get it fixed, I availed the renovation service and also asked the expert how to fill gaps between tiles. He told me about the ways to fill the gaps. I have added those below.

How to Fill the Gap Between Tiles?

Here are the methods that the professional had told me about.

Epoxy Joint Filler

He mentioned that Epoxy Joint fillers are made of epoxy resin and hardener. These are some of the best ways to fill gaps between tiles as they are quite durable.

Silicone Tile Gap Filler

The next process he told me about was Silicone tile gap filler. This gap filler is made out of silicone paste and is very effective. This filler is mainly used for filling gaps between floor and wall tiles.

Caulk

Another gap filler he told me about was Caulk. According to him, this is widely used to fill gaps between tiles. He also said that it's much easier to apply.

This is all he told me when I asked him how to fill spaces between tiles. After listening to this, I decided to use Epoxy Joint fillers for my Pooja room. Hope this helps.

How to fix tiles on wall?

I attempted to use grout to fix my broken tile floor five years ago. But a year later, I noticed that it continued to crack. So, I hired a renovator and saw that he had filled in the tile gaps of my flat with white cement. For your reference, I have included the detailed process on how to fill in tile gaps that I witnessed him using below.

How to Fill Tile Gaps?

  • Mark the Area

I watched him begin by using a pencil to mark the tile area that needed to be filled. To fill up the larger gaps more precisely he outlined them. However, he made a few marks throughout the region for the smaller gap.

  • Clean the Area

He then removed all of the dirt and debris from that area using sandpaper.

  • White Cement Preparation

Then he poured the required amount of white cement into the mixing container and combined it with water.

  • Filling of Gaps

He proceeded by simply pouring the paste into the gap to seal it. He pushed it in with a putty knife.

  • Dry the Surface

He finally left that surface for ten to fifteen minutes to let it get dried. Using a little putty knife, he scraped out the excess to smooth the surface.

When I asked how to fill floor tile gap on my own, he told me that I could use caulk or silicone tile gap filler. It will help to maintain the overall appearance and have a durable finish for my tiles. I hope this answer helps you understand how to fill gap in tiles.

But, the main question is how to fill gaps in tiles. I can assure you that filling the gaps is a rather simple process. All you have to do is follow the below steps.

How to Fill Gaps in Bathroom Tiles?

You can refer to the below steps for the relatively simple process that Advaith Kashyap mentioned above of filling gaps in bathroom tiles.

  • To begin, carefully clean the gaps and remove any loose or broken tiles using a putty knife.

  • Fill the caulking gun with caulk or tile filler.

  • Using a caulking gun at the right angle will provide a smooth application of filler in the gaps.

  • Gradually apply a uniform layer of filler along the gaps.

  • Once all the spaces have been filled, use a putty knife to smooth the surface and remove any remaining filler.

  • Use a damp sponge to clean the tiles and remove any extra filler.

How to Stop Water Leakage from Bathroom Tiles?

Hi, Pal

If you are depressed with the increasing gaps between the tiles in your washroom and want to know how to fill gap between tiles, then I can provide you with a solution to get rid of this problem.

When used appropriately, white cement is excellent for filling cracks and gaps. It can be used to fill gaps in marble, vitrified tiles, and ceramic tiles. Furthermore, if you want to match the tile colour by producing a single floor piece slab illusion, you can mix the white cement with colour pigments. Let me now demonstrate how to fill tiles gap using white cement.

Steps to learn how to fill the gap between bathroom tiles using white cement:
  • To begin, make a grout by correctly combining white cement and water

  • Before you begin grouting, make sure the spacing between the tiles is clean. It's also a good idea to do rid of the tile spacers

  • Apply a well-mixed grout in thick paste consistency to the gaps with a putty blade. Gaps should be carefully filled without any air gaps

  • After applying the grout, use a sponge or cleaning cloth to remove any excess grout from the tiles

  • When using grout for any project, I recommend that you always follow the manufacturer's instructions

If you don't consider learning how to fill the gap between tiles, and also feel that it is not your cup of tea, you can always  hire a professional plumber.
