I remember when I was admitted to college, I had to fill out a number of forms. During the initiation, we were taught how to fill undertaking form. Undertaking form can be deemed as a form wherein one party or organization gives assurance that the obligations given in writing will be fulfilled in the agreed fashion. Keep reading to know more. 

How to fill up undertaking form ?

Before I share with you the process, let me share with you an instance. My friend asked me “ is undertaking the same as signing a contract ?”. I told him that an undertaking is different from a contract. Despite the difference, once you sign an undertaking you must fulfill the obligations mentioned.

  • The first step in undertaking form fill up is getting a printout of the form. The print can be either in black and white or color. 

  • Once that is done, you are supposed to fill out the details asked. 

  • Mention everything correctly.

  • Usually, you are supposed to mention your name, date of birth, father’s name, official home address, etc.

  • You will then have to sign and date the undertaking. 

  • The last step is getting the names and signatures of witnesses. 

If required, get the undertaking form stamped for legality by a local notary. You can get it notarized on Rs. 10, Rs. 20, Rs.50, and Rs 100 note page.
