I came to know about the dag number meaning during the time when my father was selling one of his plots. It is a number assigned to a plot of land with or without a structure. In urban areas, a survey number or plot number is assigned to every plot. Similarly, in rural areas, mostly, a dag number is assigned. I hope you have by now understood what is dag no in land. This number is written according to the serial number of fields in the village.

If you have ever dealt in any land sale or purchase, you must have heard of

land Dag number. If not Dag number, you must have heard of the Khasra number. Both Khasra and Dag no means the same.

The term "khasra number" is essential in India's land records. A person who lives in an urban region can find it challenging to comprehend or apply it because it is frequently employed in rural areas. When you are ready to purchase land but are unaware of the Khasra Number, things become much more challenging.

Dag number searching process

Khasra number (Dag number) is a crucial document that establishes rights to a piece of property. It is a crucial component of the Sharja document. The entire map of the village's land may be found in Sharja. This record is created by the lekhpal, and a patwari is tasked with keeping it immediately updated. The plot number and the khasra number (dag number) are not usually the same. In the event that the plot or piece of property is sold, given, divided, or post-mutation, the khasra number adjusts appropriately.

For instance, 52 may be the khasra number given to a particular plot of land. Later, it is split into two pieces, with the newly allocated khasra numbers being 52/1 and 52/2.

You can retrieve information using the Khasra number, such as -

  • Information on titles and owners going back 50 years

  • The plot's size

  • Type of crop that is grown
