This special number indicates the official registration of the real estate transaction.

According to my knowledge, the sale deed number is located on the document itself and is written as follows: Document Number / Year / Sub Registrar Office Initials. An example of this;

is JAY-1-0568X-2020–21.

Here, 

JAY – Jayanagar sub-registrar office in Bangalore

1 – Stored in Book 1

0568X–  Sale Deed number

2020–21 – Registration year
