Hi buddy. I can tell you how to fit hinges on a door. I watched a carpenter putting the hinges on my cabinet doors during my home renovation. He asked me to first choose the hinge type and then he marked out the positions, and attached it. Read on to get the detailed steps.
How to Install Hinges on a Cabinet Door?
The carpenter first asked me to select the hinge type between European style hinges, traditional butt hinges, and overlay cabinet hinges. As I liked the design of overlay hinges and it best matches the style of my cabinet door, I selected it.
Following that he performed the below steps:
To measure the overlay, he first subtracted the width of the cabinet opening from the width of the cabinet door and divided the outcome by two.
Then, he painted the area where the prior hinge was installed and left it to get dried.
After that, he used the alignment template included with the largest drill bit.
Now he lined up the template with the door's edge and drilled a hole through the middle to the bit's depth.
He reinstalled the hinge into my cabinet's frame using the screws.
Finally, he used the adjusters to level the door properly.
