How to fix a leaking boiler pipe?

• Turn off the boiler

For boiler leak repair, you need to turn off the boiler. If the water and electricity leak at the same time it can create a big hazard. So, shut off the leaking pipe. The process to repair can be easy but you have to be very careful since there is a chance of electrocuting yourself.

• Clean off and dry the pipe

Now that the connection has been turned off, you can dry off the pipe and remove the dirt and grime from the surface of the pipe. If the pipe is too dirty you may need to use sandpaper or a file and lightly scrub it off. You should make sure that the copper is a little shiny before the application of epoxy putty. 

• Seal the hole with epoxy putty

Mix the resin and the hardener by kneading with your hand and fill the crack with the putty. After 5-10 minutes superfast copper will seal the hole with a repair pressure resistance up to 30. Generally, household boilers operate at 1 and 2 bars.

• Use repair Bandage

To produce an effective result wrap the epoxy putty with a pipe repair bandage. A pipe bandage is a water-activated resin. When it comes to water it sets in minutes and prevents the pipes from cracking furthermore.

Well, you cannot fix a leaky boiler pipe on your own all the time. If you have reluctance fixing your pipe you better call a plumber.
