Leakage in the toilet inlet pipe is a common plumbing issue. A few months back, I faced the same issue, so I think I can help you with how to fix leaking toilet inlet pipe. Now let me tell you this may sound an easy task but requires lots of experience and should not be considered a DIY task. When I noticed the leakage in my toilet inlet pipe, I hired a professional plumber to address this issue.

How to Fix Toilet Inlet Pipe Leaking Issue?

As I already mentioned, this is not a DIY task and should be addressed by a plumber. However, I have shared a few general steps that you can take if you still want to handle the task yourself,

  • Tighten fittings: Close the valve and inspect the fittings that link the toilet tank and supply line. Use a wrench to tighten any loose fittings until they are secure.

  • Replace the washers: A worn-out washer may be the cause of the leak if the fittings are tight and the supply line continues to leak. Remove the nut from the end of the supply pipe and turn off the water supply. Put a new washer in place of the old one.

  • Install a pressure regulator: If the water pressure in your house is very high, you can install a pressure regulator. In order to control water pressure and stop leaks, a pressure regulator can be useful.

I hope these steps help you!

Hey. I am here to help you know how to fix a leaking toilet inlet pipe. I faced the same issue a while ago and fixed it by using some flex tape. Let me share the steps below.

How to Fix a Leaking Toilet Inlet Valve?

  1. Begin by turning off the water supply to the inlet pipe.

  2. Next, drain the water from the toilet tank and the bowl. For this, you can flush the toilet a few times and then hold down the handle ill all the water drains out.

  3. With adjustable pliers or a wrench, disconnect the toilet tank’s supply lines. When you do so, ensure to have a bucket or towel to get hold of any remaining water that may come out in the process.

  4. Check the supply lines for any damage, tear, etc. If you come across any damages, the line needs to be replaced. On the other hand, if there is a small hole, you can fix it using flex tape on the region to overcome leaking.

  5. If you see that the whole line is damaged, there is a need to replace the line. Measure the length of the previous pipe to buy the one of the right size.

  6. Connect the new pipe to the fill valve on the toilet tank by turning the nut in a clockwise direction till it is tight. You can take the help of pliers to tighten it further.

  7. Reconnect the water supply line turn the shut-off valve in a counterclockwise direction till it opens completely and let the toilet tank fill up with water.

  8. Switch on the water supply and run a test for leaks by flushing the toilet a couple of times and see that the supply line and the valve are free from any water drops.

  9. If you do come across any leaks, tighten the nuts even more and then check.

This is how to fix a leaking toilet inlet pipe.
