I have a wooden floor at my home and one of the most common issues that I have faced are splintered wooden floors. So, how to fix a splintered wood floor? One of the first things that often people try to do after spotting a splinter is to pull it out. Please don’t do that; this is one important lesson that I have learned over the years. Pulling that out will always remove more wood, thus creating a bigger splinter.

How to Repair Splintered Hardwood Floor?

If you don't fix the splinter, it could turn into a hazard pretty soon. So, what to do? Well, you can use the methods that I have used to deal with them.

Fix it With Glue

One of the easiest methods is to apply a small amount of glue to the wood. After doing that, place a little bit of painter's tape over that and press it firmly. Remove the tape carefully after 12 hours.

Wood Putty

You can use this method in case the splinter broke off and left a small cavity in the floor. Take a bit of wood putty and fill the cavity with it. Let it dry for some time and after that, sand it to the level of the floor using sandpaper. Clean the debris using a damp cloth.

And that’s how you should fix a splintered wood floor. I have been using these methods for years and they work like magic.
