How to Fix Pigeon Net in Balcony?

To learn about the process of fixing pigeon nets on the balcony, you can check the answers provided by Malvika and Vinay. Here are a few things that you can keep in mind while installing a bird net in your house.

Size of the Mesh

Choosing the right mesh size is very necessary. You can choose mesh with larger holes, as they are lightweight and can withstand wind pressure. They also are more affordable.

Material of the Net

The material of the net needs to be durable and long-lasting. A UV-protected polypropylene bird net would be your best bet it could withstand sunny, rainy, and windy days alike.

Secure Attachment

Birds are quite persistent, and they will try their best to dislodge or pull down the net. You can use net clips or zip ties to keep the net securely attached to the structure.

And that’s about it. These are a few things that you need to keep in mind when installing a bird net in balcony.

How to Clean Cement Balcony Floor?

Hey! I have a 2 BHK on the 4th floor in a cooperative housing society. The problem with having a balcony is that birds can come in anytime into your house. This was the case with me until I looked for a pigeon net for balcony installation.

Several times, pigeons used to fly into our kitchen through the balcony. We suffered a lot because of this and had to spend a lot of time getting them to fly out. Since I have installed the net, there have been zero problems. Let me share the method with you.

How to install pigeon net in balcony

There are several ways to attach a pigeon pet to your balcony. Let me show you a straightforward way of doing so.

  • You can install a bird net by running a wire around your balcony and attaching the net to it. To do so, first drill holes on the corners. In case that is not an option, you can opt for magnet fixings or even clamps. These products are easily available online. After drilling the holes or fixing the clamps or magnet fixings on the four corners, start applying the wire to cross all the corners and make a structure for the net to be put on. Lastly, place the net on the wire so that it covers the whole balcony, cut any excess so that there is no entry point for the birds.

I hope my answer helps you to know how to install bird netting on balcony.

How to Fix Bird Net in Balcony

Bird netting is one of the most often utilised strategies for protecting structures from all types of urban bird pests. Its popularity stems from the fact that, if properly placed, it is essentially the only system that can be used with confidence in areas where there is a high degree of bird infestation and where birds roost at night.

  1. Corner fixes should be installed at every corner or every 10 metres along a straight course.

  2. Install intermediate fixings at 1 metre intervals for 75mm and 50mm nets, 0.5 metre intervals for 40mm and 28mm nets, and 0.3 metre intervals for 19mm nets in a straight line between the corner fixes.

  3. Run 10m of wire rope through one side's fasteners.

  4. One of the wire ends should be looped through the corner fixing and secured with two copper ferrules or two wire rope grips.

  5. Thread the free end of the wire rope through the eye of an opening barrel strainer attached to the other corner fixing. Tighten the wire rope. 2 copper ferrules or 2 wire rope grips are used to secure the rope.

  6. Tighten the barrel strainer to tension the wire.

  7. Steps 3–6 should be repeated for the other three sides of the area. Additional diagonal support wires may be required for larger nets.

  8. To secure the net to the rope, use a netting corner tie to secure one corner of the net to the corner fixing. Ensure that a netting corner tie is put around the mesh and the corner fixed when you reach each corner.

  9. Hog ring each mesh square to the wire rope around the edge to ensure the net is pulled tight and square.

I hope my method on how to fix bird net in balcony will be useful to you.
