Bubbles are often formed that build up over time because of humidity in the air, causing it to shrink and swell. I can tell you how to fix bubbles in wood table, as we were in the same situation last summer, and our table looked visibly damaged due to swollen wood. My sister helped me come up with quick solutions and we could revive our wooden table.

How to Fix Bubbles on Wood Table?

My sister came up with the solutions through an online search, and I am sharing the tips that worked for us, and might work for you as well.

  • The quickest way is to expose the table in the sunlight. This is to let the wood completely dry because the issue here is the water or moisture which makes the surface damp.

  • Another way to remove the bubbles is to use an iron on the water-damaged surface. After we placed our table under the sunlight, we still found a few tiny bubbles, so we used this technique to flatten the wood. So, place a cloth on the table and slowly iron over the cloth for about 10-15 minutes, then leave the table to dry for a while. You may have to repeat this process for a few times until all the bubbles are gone.

  • The third technique on how to fix water bubble on wood table is through sanding. Although we didn’t have to do it, if you still find bubbles on your wooden table, I’d suggest sanding and finishing the surface. After sanding, apply a sealant to the sanded surface.

  • Finally, you can use a wood flattening tool to remove any remaining water damage. After we ironed our table, we used a flattening tool to finish the surface. This helped us restore the original shine of the wood.

I hope this answer will help you understand how to fix bubbled wood table.
