He told me that this is the easiest solution as you only need to unscrew the nuts holding the pipes together. And then wrapping plumber tape around the threading for metallic drain pipes. The only thing that I need to be mindful of is to make sure that the wrapping it in a clockwise direction.

  • Tighten The Slip Nuts

He said that a lot of times, leak underneath bathroom sink happen due to loose slip nuts. If they are, then tightening them with a wrench can get the job done.

There are some methods of repairing a leaking pipe like

Applying putty-

Applying a 2-part epoxy putty around the leak can help you stop the water flow from the damaged area. Just knead the base and hardener to make the epoxy putty and press it around the leak. Make the putty about ½ inch thick and let it sit as mentioned. You can get the putty from any hardware store or online.

  Use silicone tape-

Silicone tape is considered the best for repairing a leak. They are highly durable and water resistant. Just wrap the tape around the pipe multiple times, and the leak will be repaired. The best part is that you can use this tape on any kind of pipe.

  Seal the clamp-

Clamps help tighten the seal on the pipe and even hold it. The rubber piece, called a gasket, and the metal fastener makes sure there is no leak. So try pressing the gasket tightly against the section of the pipe where there is a leak and stopping the water flowing from it.
