My water pipes were making a lot of noise, and to get them fixed, I hired a plumber. After inspecting the pipes, the plumber told me that the pipes were vibrating because of a water hammer. He added that when flowing water suddenly slams into a closed valve and comes to a stop, it causes vibrations. After this, he did some stuff to fix the issue. If you want to know how to fix vibrating water pipes in your home, then read along.
How to Stop Water Pipes From Vibrating?
After telling me about the issue, here are the steps that he had followed to stop the pipes from vibrating. First of all, he started by shutting down the water from the house’s main shut-off valve. Here are the steps that he followed after that.
Next, he opened all the faucets and flushed all the toilets from the top of the house to the bottom. He said he was doing this to drain all the water from the pipes.
After that, he closed all the faucets throughout the house.
Finally, he opened the main shutoff valve to let the water flow again.
There was an area where he installed a hammer arrestor to stop the vibration. And that’s how the issue was fixed. I hope this helps.
