Hey there,

I have window screens on all of my windows. Screens allow me to take in more of the great outdoors while keeping the less-than-pleasant elements out of my home; they keep anything from bugs, mosquitoes to dirt out of an open window. But it often happens that the screen tears or breaks due to a tear in the mesh or a bent frame. So, it's critical to know how to fix window screen hole immediately and correctly.

How to fix holes in window screens?

The holes in the screens can be small or big. If the holes are small, follow the given method.

  1. To repair a minor hole or rip in a vinyl or fibreglass screen, use a small amount of clear nail paint. The polish seals the damaged region by acting as an adhesive.

  2. Use a dab of transparent silicone adhesive to repair tiny tears in metal or fibreglass screens.

  3. Unravel a strand or two from a remnant of screening and sew the hole closed with a needle, weaving the threads through the sound fabric.

If the holes are small, follow the given method.

  1. Using tin snips, carefully cut the affected areas to a ravel-free cube or rectangle (metal shears).

  2. Take a piece of patched screen material that is about 1 inch larger than the damaged area (in both directions).

  3. Unravel a few strings of material around the patch's whole perimeter, then bend the unravelled ends at 90 degrees on each side.

  4. Put the patch over the damaged section and cautiously thread the twisted wires through the sound material; then, to keep the patch in place, bend the wires flat again.

  5. Simply cut a patch of identical material and apply it to the good material with transparent silicone adhesive for huge gaps in fibreglass screening.

These are the steps I follow and often suggest for
