Wondering how to generate EVC through net banking? Generating an Electronic Verification Code (EVC) through net banking in India is a crucial step for electronically verifying your Income Tax Return (ITR) or for other tax-related purposes.

How to E Verify through Net Banking?

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to generate an EVC using net banking:

  • Go to the official website of your bank where you have your net banking account.

  • Log In: Enter your user ID and password to log in to your net banking account. If you don’t have net banking access, you will need to set it up by contacting your bank.

  • Once logged in, look for the "Tax Services" or "Income Tax" section. The exact location and name might vary depending on the bank, but it’s typically listed under the main menu or services section.

  • Within the Tax Services section, find the option to generate an EVC. This may be listed as "Generate EVC for e-Filing" or something similar.

  • You may be required to enter details such as your Permanent Account Number (PAN), date of birth, and any other required information.

  • Verification: Ensure that the details you enter are accurate to avoid errors in the EVC generation process.

  • After entering the required details, submit the request to generate the EVC. The code will be sent to your registered mobile number or email address associated with your bank account.

  • Check Receipt: The EVC is usually sent as an SMS to your registered mobile number. It may also be visible on the net banking screen.

  • Go to the Income Tax e-Filing website and log in using your PAN and password.

  • Enter EVC: During the e-filing process, you will be prompted to enter the EVC to verify your return. Input the code received to complete the verification process.

  • If you do not receive the EVC, check your mobile number registered with the bank and ensure it is correct. You can also contact your bank's customer service for assistance.

  • Generating an EVC through net banking involves logging into your account, navigating to the tax services section, entering required details, and using the received code for electronic verification.

This process simplifies the verification of your Income Tax Return and ensures that your tax filings are processed efficiently. This is how to e verify using net banking.
