Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority (CMDA) is responsible for regulating physical developments within the metropolitan area of Chennai. For this, CMDA has made a master plan that permits people to use land in different parts of Chennai’s metropolitan area. Let me tell you how to get CMDA approval for patta land in Chennai.
You are required to get Planning Permission from the CMDA before you undertake any development. The permission is valid for 3 years from the date of the issue. Check out the process here:
Get the application form from the office of CMDA, Panchayat Union Offices, Town Panchayats, Municipalities, or Chennai Corporation.
Submit the application form to the Panchayat Union / Town Panchayat / Municipality / Chennai City Municipal Corporation depending upon location for an ordinary building for which powers to issue planning permission have been delegated.
In case of a Multi-storeyed building (more than four floors) and Special Buildings (Ground + three floors) group development, you can submit the application directly in CMDA.
You also need to submit Form ‘C’ & Form ‘B’ an undertaking from the applicant/owner and Form ‘A’ for laying out lands for building purposes.
After that, the authorities will scrutinize your application. If it fulfills the Development Regulations, they will issue the planning permission, and if not, the CMDA/local authority will refuse the planning permission.
