DTCP stands for Directorate of Town and Country Planning. It is essential to get your land DTCP approved if your property falls outside Chennai. In most of the areas of Tamil Nadu, DTCP approval is required except for the one under the control of (CMDA) Chennai Metropolitan  Development Authority. DTCP has the jurisdiction of both planned and unplanned areas of Tamil Nadu. DTCP approval is required in case you are planning to construct however since you have already existing property DTCP approval will be required if you wish to buy or sell a property. To get your property DTCP approved
  • Submit the required documents with fees to the local body
  • Further, your documents will be forwarded to the regional office.
  • The scrutiny body will guide you about the outcome
  • If it gets approved you will have to pay the required fees
  • An order will be issued to file the approval
