DDA Housing Scheme refund

I recently came across the news that DDA has agreed to return registration fees of Rs. 1 lakh to unsuccessful applicants who did not receive a flat in the scheme's lottery draw within one month rather than three. The land development agency made it clear in the DDA housing plan brochure that it would not pay applicants any interest on the registration money for up to three months during the normal three-month refund period for the registration fee. Except for applicants who fall under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category, the registration fee is Rs. 10,000 instead of Rs. 1 lakh.

The month will begin to run when the lots are drawn, which will be on November 25. In contrast to the end of February, applicants will now receive their money returned by the end of December. If someone paid for registration using money from their account, the bank will automatically send that money back to that person's account. Additionally, those who borrowed money from banks may have to pay less interest because the funds were sent to the bank directly within a month.

The housing scheme's brochure states that if the money is refunded after three months, DDA is required to pay a simple interest rate of 8% per year to rejected applicants.

How to get refund of DDA Housing Scheme?

The applicant must specifically state their savings bank account number, IFSC code, etc. on the application form for a refund of application money, which will be made using the "ONLINE" option, in order to receive a refund. Only the first applicant's bank account number should be provided in the application form if the application is made in a joint name because the refund will only be made in that applicant's name. NRE accounts or current accounts shouldn't be used for the bank account.

I hope I was able to help you understand how to get refund from DDA Housing Scheme.
